To Someone Special Merry Christmas
A tiny selection of the homemade goodies and carefully selected extras which make up the gift parcels for people living locally who need a bit of Christmas cheer. For the second year running, because of Covid, there's no Christmas party for the older people. Last year we made some deliveries instead and we repeated the fun in the spring. And here we are again.
The card was made by one of the P2 pupils at the primary school. In the extra is the inscription. When packed up the bags are quite heavy and they include a Christmas pudding, cheese, oatcakes, shortbread, a bottle of beer and a tin of G&T, sweets and candles (a tealight in a jar) as well as these delightful treats. I delivered three of my allocated bags yesterday and (much) later this morning I'll hope to deliver the fourth.
As well as distributing a bit of cheer it's a chance to chat to neighbours. Flora got lucky on yesterday's delivery when a Jumbone was produced for her by one of the recipients. One of last year's elves has continued to make and deliver scones each week to her deliverees, if that's a word.
All very heart warming.
