End of the day at Nanpantan

We went to Low Woods Fabrics Centre first and then to Loughborough this afternoon. I bought a piece of white fabric as a photographic backdrop, although sadly, it will need ironing every time I use it, some red ribbon and a wooden carrier bearing the logo, Veuve Cliquot. There was no champagne in it, worse luck.

In Loughborough, I went straight to Max Spielmann's to get some photos of the Shepshed Christmas market printed for Louis, the fishmonger. He said I might have saved his bacon as some old codger in the council flats by Hall Croft has complained yet again about the market, saying it's a nuisance and noisy. He seemed to have discovered that Louis hadn't obtained insurance for the event and is going to sue him. The photos will demonstrate that it was a friendly community event. It was attended by the Mayor of Charnwood, so Louis should have a witness on his side.

We waited for the photos to print, drinking coffee at Caffè Nero across the marketplace, then popped in to say Hello to Aziz, picking up some very reasonably priced greengrocery on the way.

By 3.30 it was beginning to get dark, but we thought we might manage a circuit of Nanpantan Reservoir. No such luck. The bailiff arrived ten minutes after us to lock pedestrian access so we had to retrace our steps.

Did catch a last glimmer of light in the sky. The water was amazingly still. Good chance of mist tomorrow morning. Extra is of 'my' trees overlooking the bank.
