The Puffins have Landed
These puffins have landed safely in the Dower House, blown off course from the Northlands by storm Barra.
The resident Christmas tree robin has welcomed his bigger companion and they are now perched amicably side by side while my cup of coffee is warming up the feathers of another one.
Just as I invested in particularly warm thermal underwear to combat the cold in the Dower House and outside, the weather has been almost Mediterranean in mildness and the temperature has been in double figures. The trees seem as perplexed as the rest of us with this untimely weather-they are not sure whether to shed their remaining leaves or push forward with the new buds.
My extra is a shaft of early morning sun catching the dome and spire of Old College
