Cry, Cry and Cry Again

We gave Alison (my job share partner) a pretty good send off under the circumstances. We had a whole school assembly and parents joined via zoom. Children from each year group came out to the front and shared their memories of being taught by Alison and our Head gave a touching speech. The photo was taken while we were singing the song we had written for her and you can see the reaction. The parents collected over £500 and gave her some lovely, thoughtful presents. Rather than having a big get together with past and present staff, we had a quiet get together with current staff after school. I helped Alison out to her car weighed down with various gifts, flowers and bottles. I think we succeeded in giving her a special send off.
