Keys known and unknown
I wanted to sort out the little drawers in the kitchen that might be tempting for little boys fingers. This morning, I cleared out the drawers that we use to keep analgesics and other medications - that stuff is now in plastic boxes on a high shelf in the pantry.
Then I moved to the other drawers. Some contain chocolate - a job for tomorrow - but I wanted to sort out the little drawer which had keys in it. In the end, this was relatively simple - the keys had been labelled by the previous owners, and the only redundant keys were for the patio doors in the lounge that had been removed when we had the garden room built. These, once we were certain they didn't fit anything else ended up in the bin. There were five identical unlabelled keys, but again, it was easy to identify them as spare keys for the studio doors, and label them appropriately.
But then I decided to tackle the key board in the study - that was a mistake. Here are the many keys from it. Some are labelled, and we know what they are. But there are really rather a lot that are unidentified. Some appear to be old car keys - not mine, and W denies any knowledge - one of the girls? A couple probably belong to a demolished shed in the garden. And what about the one on a key ring with a dog whistle and a key fob for a kennels - that must be an old one of mine, as the kennels is one that I used just the once for Fido.
In searching for tags for the keys, I identified my job for tomorrow - the bureau.
