Lessshhhgooooooo

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

Today I was supposed to go to New Plymouth for a room install. It was going to be a quick one. It was just a small room with a simple set-up. Easy.

Exxxxxxcept.....

It rained. A lot. To the extent that Air NZ cancelled the flight that Losi and I were about to catch. I was on my way to the airport when the news came through and Losi was already there.

So he came up with Plan B. He hired a car and we DROVE there!

I mean. What the heck. It's only five hours. Corrie organised it all - plus overnight accommodation and then roooooooaaaad triiiiiiiiip.

Losi is hilarious. He is a mischievous mass of enthusiasm and catchphrases. His favourite is "lessssshgooooo". Which also conveys the enthusiasm.

The rain was PRODIGIOUS. We were precipitated upon from a great height the entire way. In fact, as we got closer and closer to New Plymouth it got WORSE. "Is it just ME, or are these cars trying to ESCAPE New Plymouth?" asked Losi at one point.

But we kept our spirits up and the five hours flew by quickly. Mainly through the gift of SOOOONG. We helped Cyndi Lauper along on "Time After Time"....

WHEN YOU FALL I WILL CATCH YOU I'LL BE WAITING
IIIII WILLLLL BE WAAAAAIIIITING

We enjoyed the mellow groove of The Beach Boys on "Kokomo"....

ARUBA JAMAICA OOOH I WANNA MAKE YA

We uplifted our spirits with The Beatles and "Here Comes The Sun"...

HERE COMES THE SUN
AND I SAY
IT'S ALRIGHT!
DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO...

And (ironically enough) just as we entered New Plymouth we were greeted by Creedence Clearwater Revival singing "Have You Ever Seen The Rain?"

YES WE HAVE, sang Malosi.

By the time we got there the installers had come and gone, but it all seemed fine, bar one of two little things that we worked upon and sorted out. I did a little bit of training and people were happy that we'd made the effort to come and see them. So it was totally worth it.

ALSO. The hotel Corrie fixed up for us is LOVELY. I mean, except the constant rain part. Their buffet dinner was amazing and then me and Losi went out to get beers. We brought them back to the hotel room and watched "Shaolin Soccer" a kung-foo comedy about football that is really served best with alcohol.

Nevertheless, we were both pretty tired by this stage, so only a couple of beers were had.

Now it is the morning after and we are going back to the office for another couple of checks before heading off. Hopefully to better weather.

SUN SUN SUN HERE IT COMES.

Etc.

S.
