A path in the woods
This morning I was up early to do some gym, I still cannot run so am trying to be inventive with some mat work. Inca was also up early and left by 7.30 to get to the stables for her equine work, which she said was mainly involved mucking out stables so she did not learn anything new today.
I went grocery shopping - a bigger trolley load now that Tommy is home! I also bought some foods for hampers that I make up as Christmas presents, and I thought it best to get the food now before the shops run out of Christmas goodies.
I spent ages with Tommy trying to buy some clothing for him online - his gym training means he cannot fit into certain items of clothing which he needs, but shopping online is not easy as we don't know if it will fit so it looks like a trip to the shops this week, which I am not looking forward to. Whoever thought online shopping was quick and easy - not when it comes to Tommy it seems, 2 hours later and we had only bought two T shirts! We also tried to book his booster vaccine following Boris' announcement last night that from today all over 18 year olds can now get their boosters, but crazily you can only book from Wednesday, and not many places are offering walk ins, and if they do, there were horrendously long queues today - his friend waited +4 hours in a queue today.
This morning just as they were about to check out of the hotel (as they are flying home tonight), Luke was notified by British Airways that they had cancelled their flight from Mauritius to London. Travelling is so complicated these days with all the Covid tests one has to take, and so a cancelled flight just screws everything up as your Covid tests are timed to fit in with the required timing regulations. Fortunately the hotel could offer them another night's accommodation, and they have managed to get a flight back a day later but it is all costing them extra (because of course the small compensation offered by BA does not cover costs) and the timings regarding the Covid tests are don't quite work. Very frustrating and stressful for them!
Although camera club has finished for the year, I have a camera club meeting tonight regarding a new sub committee that is proposing some development training and they have asked for feedback from a limited number of members. Which means I had better crack on and go make supper now.
