Lonesome birch
Actually, the birch isn’t lonesome at all, it’s just the angle of the photograph. There are lots more of them behind me, although this one is right on the edge of the moorland.
There is noticeably less light on our morning walks and I suspect that we may be starting while it is still dark by the time we get to the winter solstice. I know we could set off a bit later, but that would be breaking a habit of a lifetime for Bertie (or at least his life time with us.)
