Patroness of the U. S.

Chilly, rain off and on. The weatherman said we were getting snow; not. Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day of obligation. “On May 17, 1846, the bishops of the United States proclaimed Mary, under the title of her Immaculate Conception, the principal patroness of the whole country.” We were up early because hubby was attending 7:00 am Mass. One of us had to be home to let the cable guy in when he arrived. Plus, Mack had asked me to attend the 9:00 Mass because she and a few other classmates were cantering. They did a great job. I miss going to the weekly school Mass with my grands but COVID shut us out. Hopefully, our Internet will be faster and more reliable now but I won’t hold my breath. Hubby had PT and an appointment with audiology to have his hearing aids serviced. Our DIL made us plates for tonight so he grabbed them on the way home. We are simply spoiled. My sister and BIL stopped by to drop off stuff and pick up their pickled peppers we helped them make. I actually wrapped gifts till I needed a nap. Guess I’ll wrap more after dinner until bed time. Thanks for the visit. Stay safe. Word we get is that the newest strain has mild symptoms. Yeah! "The holly bears a blossom / As white as lily flower / And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ  / Sweet singing of the choir ." - Lalo Schifrin.
