Beating Barra
Not to be beaten by the threat of Storm Barra, my Tuesday wild swimming companion and I stripped off to our cozzies and waded into the briney at 8:58am this morning, dipped and bobbed about in water of 7.8° and waded out at 9:05.
It was both bracing and exhilarating.
No sooner had I got back home, than the weather went down hill rapidly and the forecasted sleet was horizontal blowing in from the east. The omens looked dire for a foray into the city centre for coffee with a group of friends from Maggie’s, after lunch, but it all blew over and the meeting went ahead despite the trouble of finding a way into the café when the gardens were shut and there was no notice indicating entry was only through the back door of the gallery.
I don’t know if there is more to come from Barra but if that is it, then it was all macho bluster from him/it!
the latest storms have deposited huge amounts of seaweed on the beach at Porty
