Grey

One of those damp, grey mornings that never wake up. Throughly joy-sucking.

On arrival at the office this morning, it was evident to see that Ellie should be nowhere near work and so I sent her straight back where she came from. She did look rough but I probably shouldn’t have told her how rough she looked.

I was in school with Craig today for some lessons and we were shocked to hear that this particular secondary is currently spending £1,000 per month on face-masks to ensure that young people are following government guidelines. That’s a shocking figure in itself, but then you start to consider what that’s costing on a wider level. Utterly mind-boggling. Surely the financial and environmental impacts of the pandemic will be with us for generations.

After visiting another school it was back to the office for my monthly zoom with my good friend and mentor, JD. He’s one of the good ones, for sure, and time with him is always precious and life affirming. Somewhat sad today, as we mulled over his personal news, but moments of joyfulness too.
