Funny little statue

A quiet Bank Holiday. Think I had a hangover. Time was when three glasses of red wine wouldn't touch the sides, but I've felt them today. Suppose never having a lie in doesn't help!
Rose and I went on a long walk in the bright, cold, sunshine and came across this statue in the wall at the corner of Barlow Moor Rd & Wilmslow Rd. A cursory google hasn't thrown up much but I'll find out...
