Silly Saturday ...

Even though it was cold and windy again today (tis the season!) we went up to the Plainfield Rail Trail for a short walk.  It was too cold for a longer one.  

There's a certain part of the trail that we usually turn around that enables us to walk about a mile.  On the way back to the car I spotted this Yellow-bellied Sapsucker ... actually heard him first!  Luckily for me he moved to a more photographable tree right in front of us ... this never happens!  Then I simply had to wait until he was in the sun!  I took over 30 shots of him and was very pleased with this one.

When I returned home I sat on the back deck for a short time with my squirrels.  I knew they would come through for me for Silly Saturday! And I was right! Don't you just love his little teeth!?!
