The clock tower

Today I popped into town and picked up my reading glasses, bought some touchscreen gloves from Mountain Warehouse to replace the ones I lost, and got toothbrushes and hand gel from Boots.

I also went into the men's section at Next, found some joggers I wanted, then had to go downstairs to the women's section to try them on. It made me realise again how awkward it must be to be trans. The woman behind the counter seemed mildly surprised that I was buying men's trousers for myself, but she quickly hid it and was very professional.

I usually buy men's waterproof jackets, because they have better pockets. This is my first time buying men's trousers - they are joggers without cuffs, with an elastic waist and a drawstring, and with three pockets! What's not to like? I couldn't find anything similar in the women's section anywhere.

I hate how gendered clothing is, for example I wish men had the freedom to wear skirts in summer if they want to. They are much cooler than shorts, but a man wearing a skirt is still making a statement, even these days.
