On a sunny day

This is my offering for the Abstract Thursday challenge with the prompt of 'texture', with thanks to host Ingeborg. It's also a close-up of part of my lunch. We'd popped into Dartmouth for a few things and enjoyed walking in the sunshine, wrapped up against the bitter wind. Suddenly, spotting the chip shop open, I proposed a menu plan, which Mr PP was happy with, too. Buying cod'n'chips on a sunny day was a joy for this reason: a couple of days ago, our daughter sent us an audio clip of little Miss B, reciting her first ever solo composition. She made it up unprompted and with no parental input or otherwise. The words go ...

Chip shop. Chip shop. On a sunny day.
Chip shop. Chip shop. On a sunny day.
Chip shop. Chip shop. On a sunny day.

Our own children grew similarly creative, though at probably a year or two older than LMB. It's lovely to hear that appreciation of rhythm and pleasure in repetition appearing in the creative mind of yet another generation. So glad of Signal and What's App etc. to be able to share such moments even when we're miles away.

Oh, and the fish and chips were very tasty on this sunny day!
