Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Soon, very soon

I had a morning off church this morning, Ali came over for lunch having had a fairly fraught visit to Livingston. Its so nice that she can come here and chill, and I get to dandle Josie too (what a strange word that is!).
This afternoon we did lots of bits and pieces around the house and I wrote and posted my overseas Christmas cards, actually I was one stamp short so that one will go tomorrow!
I was unexpectedly off duty at the last minute this evening, so was able to relax a bit. We watched the final episode of Shetland. I enjoyed it but it was all a bit farfetched and complicated really.

This weekend is our local Christmas Fair and lights switch on. We're doing the same as last year with a few stalls in the church and grounds and the rest around the neighbourhood. People are setting up stalls of their own wares and crafts in their gardens and garages. There was a lovely atmosphere last year and this year's sounds even better. It's all organised by the D'mains lights switch on group. There is even a map of the local streets with the stalls marked on it so you can follow the trail.
The decorated stone in my blip is part of one of the events 'pretty stones' to take away or leave for someone else and there's even one special 'star' stone which wins a prize. They are all over the neighbourhood - such a lot of work has gone into preparing for Saturday, hope the weather behaves .
Keep safe everyone, hopefully my local hot spot is starting to fall a little.
