The Trumpeter Swan J76
This morning I took a walk down to the lake before the rain came. It was warm 12C and most of the ice has melted off the lake. Most ducks and geese I now see on the lake have now paired off and are near the lake shore looking for good nesting ground.
I also came across a new visitor to the lake a Trumpeter Swan this one was tagged J76. I took the number down and have reported the number to USGB Patuxent Wildlife Research center Bird Banding Laboratory. I would also like to thank Edward Fenner for making me more aware of the tag program with his recent blip.
I hope the swan stays for a few days along the lake so I can get a few more shots of him.
I have added a few more shots of the swan on Flickr
