Walk in the Park

I was in town this morning, to get last week’s bank business finished, and to accompany my mother to a cardiologist.

But this specialist has his practice inside a hospital, and they didn’t let me in because of Covid rules. (We should have told them in advance that a second person was going in, according to regulations that have been put in place this week. Only, the appointment was booked in September, and nobody informed us about the changed policy…)

Since my mother’s carer waited at the hospital to drive her home, and the cardiologist promised to phone me tomorrow, I was free to go for a walk. It was a lovely morning, with sunshine and cold, crisp air.

The main blip is taken at the „Warmer Damm“, a park next to Wiesbaden‘s opera house, which can be seen in the background.

From there, I went to the market square, where the Christmas market opened today. There’s a huge Covid test centre next to one of the entrances (see extra), and people are supposed to wear masks in the entire area of the Christmas market. I put my mask on because I had to cross the market to get back to my car. No one else was wearing a mask.

The grey clouds were back after lunch, and I spent the afternoon battling paperwork.

In other news: 11 years ago on today’s date, P moved to Germany. An anniversary that marks a huge change in both our lives.
