Old Friend!

On our first afternoon of actual wildlife photography - on Santa Cruz Island - I was surprised to encounter an old friend - a great blue heron! One big difference, however, was that this guy was completely unphased by our being right there practically close enough to grab him. This was near sunset and the light was lovely and warm. I have about a gabillion photos of this one bird...
