Christmas is Coming

It’s official- Christmas2021 in Edinburgh has arrived whether you like it or not.
The ‘sell its souls to the devil’ town council have colluded yet again with the dubious Underbelly to turn a large part of East Princes street gardens into a money making exercise with another Christmas Market.

The Christmas tree on the Mound, the annual present from Norway, is up but unlit and several complicated geometrical patterns of light wires are being staked out on the grass beneath it. At 10 am the area was unusually busy with tourists and rugby followers. I’m just surprised they got into the city centre through all the road closures.

On other matters, the reason it appears that I can no longer access IPlayer on my smart Sony TV is because at 7 years old it is too old to support the app. According to gurus David and Luca, a new smart TV has, (at half the price of this present one,) internally all the old gubbins that until now needed house room in an external cabinet.
Isn’t technology that needs updating every 5 years amazing…..or not??
