Bridge
It's Friday so the art quiz link is at the bottom of this blip.
Today I went out to the Gyle and picked up my new glasses, I'm wearing them on the Zoom screen if you can see them. I'm very pleased with the frame but I opted for a type of varifocal with minimal reading space and in fact they're just not right. I'll give them a few days, but I fear they are going to have to go back to have other lenses put in. Fortunately Specsavers guarantee you'll be happy if not they'll change them free of charge, that goes for frames as well as lenses, so it's a pretty good offer.
I had a Cursillo Ultreya this afternoon, that's a local gathering but we are still on Zoom. I was running the meeting but not coordinating the Zoom thank goodness. Nice to see some faces there that we haven't seen for a very long time.
Colin got back from Banchory just before I finished so we had an hour or so to catch up before dinner and then our evening of bridge with other Cursillo friends. It's all go!
We knew it was going to have to be a quick mean this evening so i put together a spaghetti carbonara, it only takes about 15 minutes start to finish and it's delicious. Real comfort food.
I wonder when we will be able to feel comfortable sitting round a bridge table playing face to face again. I do miss out regular bridge club evenings. Last time we met at the club was just before I went off to India in January 2020.
Tonight's Bridge was fun, and it's a good substitute I we can meet together again.
We're on back up for child care duty this weekend as Kathryn is on call. Weekend is the time they do most activities. I asked Isobel if she had swimming lessons at the moment and she said "No. I have skiing lessons just now grandma, it's important that I learn to ski you know!"
Keep safe everyone. I seem to be living in a covid hotspot at the moment. Hopefully that will change soon.
Thank you all for the comments on my ukulele adventure yesterday, it was fun!
Here's the art quiz. Eight for me this week.
