Living my dream

Weird dog

Does anybody have, or know of, a dog which trims its own toenails? Bean is having a go at her back left foot in the photo.

I was warned about it when I rehomed her, but I hadn’t quite bargained for the noise of teeth on nail, especially at dawn, when it seems nail-trimming is often part of her routine.

I’ve looked up nail-biting in dogs and for some it appears to be a sign of anxiety or nervousness. I’m sure that’s not the case for Bean. She’s relaxed and happy.

It saves getting the nail-clippers out. Ever since I once drew blood when clipping Sana’s nails, my technique has been to err on the side of minimal removal. Bean saves me the trouble.

Good dog (but a bit weird).
