Amaryllis…

…………………..or Hippeastrum?



For many years I knew this as an Amaryllis. 

In 1987, botanists ruled that it is actually a Hippeastrum, although it is still commonly called Amaryllis!



The comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s bloom is very much appreciated. It was such a sweet moment in the plant world!

There has been 1 confirmed case in Masterton, Wairarapa, but it was confirmed after the 9am deadline and will be included in tomorrow’s numbers.
