River Tweed at Abbotsford House

A wonderful day of walking with the Saturday Strollers.  We took the one hour train trip from the Waverley to Tweedbank - a great journey in itself with beautiful autumnal views as we moved through Midlothian and into the Borders.  Then a figure of eight walking route from the train station to Abbotsford House, onto Melrose and back to the station.  We missed the hourly train by a few minutes but that gave us the chance to try out The Tempest Brew Company!  We tallied up 28,000 steps by my watch!  A marvellous day - good company, perfect weather!
