Lest we forget

We never do as it's a constant reminder that Mr HB's father lost his life In WW2 at the Monte Cassino battle in Italy in 1944 aged only 32, and a poignant reminder for so many others too. Proud to be wearing our poppies with much respect.

This afternoon we visited the Carpet Museum in Kidderminster. What a wonderful place stacked full of interesting information and local history, made all the more real when two veteran weavers and loom operators put one of the original looms into operation to show us how a patterned piece of Axminster was made. Lots of noise and fascinating to see the many coloured spindles actually produce such an amazing final product.
