White as the Driven Snow
Ptarmigan lady saved the day appearing for a few seconds before spotting us and flying off. Otherwise my day with Eric the naturalist, was mainly about trying to find an Alpine Hare which is also white in the winter. We followed tracks for hours and finally found a recently occupied hole so Eric set up his equipment (extra) and waited, for 3 hours! What patience! When the sun left our lookout I had to move, my feet were freezing. I am glad I did as I watched the sun setting on the mountains in this beautiful, wild, area above Anzeindaz (second extra). A great day out but I need warmer boots before repeating the experience. Thank you Eric.
