MONARCH ( danaus plexipus )

A late Monarch - we've had such a hot summer there are still quite a few around although the food source has diminished - no Buddleah now, and the swan plants have had their day - so its any port in a storm for the Monarch - blue is always an atraction as this plant was today - someone will know what the flower is - its beyond me - I only mow the lawns !! it was feeding on the contents as I watched it.
