A Happy Sound

Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Eldest Mini Princess,

Although we didn’t put out pumpkins (I could pretend it’s because of the global
pandemic, but really I can’t face fake laughing at the same joke 50 times) we put out tubs of chocolates outside on the garden wall.

I had a flashback to how sad the sound of silence in the street felt last year and the happy contrast tonight of hearing the little guisers laughing and singing, their squeals of excitement when they spotted the chocolate, and their (very sensible) parents telling them to “just take one”.

I might even be able to deal with the jokes* next year!

*Although I will have to work on my fake laugh as, accordingly to my daughters, “it’s terrible”! Maybe I could set it as one of my goals at work - “Fake laugh process improvement.”
