Drove to Newark in the pouring rain to meet dad and C. Fortunately rain stopped just as we got there. Got the train (very busy) ,delayed inPeterborough due to overhead line failure but they made the time up and we arrived 5 mins early. Tube all working well and theatre was5 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus. Very small queue to get in, excellent seats on front row of circle. We all really enjoyed it (phantom of the opera) even though I didn’t think it would be my thing . Just so lovely to be in London and in a theatre! We had an unexpected halt to the performance for about 15 minutes and then an understudy was brought in but they were excellent. We still managed catch our planned train back to Newark which was good as we had reserved seats and yet again the train was really busy. A good day for all!
