Rugby was cancelled this morning due to bad weather.

We went to Granny and Grandpa for lunch, and we played various games and built various structures.

Home for guising, luckily the weather had improved. CyclopsJnr had a little Halloween song to use as requested. Even just going to local houses with decorations we were out for ages. CyclopsJnr and MrsCyclops were out until 7pm and came home with a big bag of sweets.

It was very busy out with kids and a lot of neighbours had put some effort into decorations. Some had music, one even had a smoke machine. I think people are keen for the kids to be allowed a bit of 'normal' fun. Parents Cyclops are a bit grinchy about such things, but it was nice that people were making it nice for the kids.

It was so busy that people had underestimated on the sweets. Quite a few had empty buckets or notes saying they'd run out, one had just returned from the shop with an extra tub, one was scrabbling for bags of crisps. My favorite had about 15 kids at his door and greeted them with "I've got four cans of Irn Bru, who wants them?"

Cyclops was stationed for receiving guisers. We live round a quiet corner and not so many people get that far. We had a bucket of 50 sweets and that was about gone when CyclopsJnr went to bed and we shut up shop.
