This morning we returned to Wareham forest (my extra) and it was as lovely as ever. I love autumn with all of the beautiful colours and it didn’t disappoint. There are lots of pine trees there but also lots of British trees - and plenty of water yesterday!
Late afternoon we popped down to the marina on Portland to watch the final cruise boat doing proper cruises leave port. I’m sure we will still see some in port for maintenance. As we were parking it started to rain a little and we were thrilled to see this stunning rainbow. The big chunks of concrete in the centre of the shot are the ‘mulberries’ - the floating caissons which were part of the artificial harbour for the Normandy landings in WW2. The cruise boat - Celebrities Sihouette can hold nearly 3000 people so pretty big but not a super huge one. An extra shot also of it once she had left the harbour with a tiny remnant of the rainbow.
