Fallen Star

Leaves from the willow fan out in a star shape on the water surface, dark black from the recent rain. The inlet is filling up again. The willow tree is old and a huge branch fell off earlier in the year. It's trunk must be 8' in diameter. Actually there are three trees, but two of them are already shadows of their former selves.

I framed the shot so the leaves form a diagonal from top right to bottom left, also a falling line. I had another frame with red leaves as well which added colour contrast, but I preferred the leaf arrangement here.
