Oakwoodsman

We were sitting having lunch today when this little fella popped up on the bank above the kitchen window. I ran for my camera and tried a few pictures through the window, then went outside and had another go. He didn't seem that worried and I got quite close. He's not quite as sharp as I would like as he wouldn't keep still for a second!

He was busy burying acorns - I wonder if the oak seedlings he's standing next to were those he planted last year!

Went to the Walled Garden this afternoon and dug up the remaining potatoes - I thought they were King Edwards, but all the smaller spuds are quite dark pink. The larger ones are the usual whitish skin with pale pink patches. 18lbs - that's the lot for this year.
