Parked up in the Thick of the Storm….

After a fine sunny, hot and humid afternoon a huge, high black cloud front advanced towards Blenheim from over the Wither Hills. It looked very dramatic. I dropped friend C off at her home then headed towards the Wither Hills and cloud bank. But I turned tail and headed home very quickly. Thunder, lighting and hail mixed with torrential rain. I parked up in a suburban street for safety until the worst of the storm had passed. I photographed the drama through the windscreen. The town has suffered surface flooding and significant storm damage. We, at home, got off lightly.
