Double Rainbow

Very mixed weather today. Not cold but blustery and wet.
We had to go shopping this morning as the cupboards were bare - well, apart from tinned stuff, which I keep a good supply of in my emergency cupboard. You just never know what’s round the corner! ;-D
Heavens, how the prices have gone up. A good job we are frugal cookers, we usually make meals so we have leftovers and mostly all from scratch apart from vegan sausages. I just don’t know how low income families cope. I think the government thinks because food banks provide food for people they don’t need to. A sad state of affairs in 2021.

I just watched a report on North West News about a charity called    Wonderfully Made Woman. It is a charity for African single mothers and widows, refugees and asylum seekers, providing a meeting place and food bank with the types of food they are culturally used to cooking. It must be hard coming to a different country where you don’t understand the language and don’t recognise the kinds of food us Westerners eat.
There are some amazing people out there.
