In The City (XXXXI) - History (2)
Yesterday's blip of the main entrance to Manchester Town Hall gave me an idea.
Today's blip is the main entrance to the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
The hotel was built in 1903. Today it's a Grade II* listed building.
According to everyone's second-favourite website Wikipedia.....
In 1904, The Midland was where Charles Stewart Rolls met Frederick Henry Royce leading to the formation of Rolls-Royce.
Also, The Beatles were once famously refused access to the hotel's French Restaurant for being inappropriately dressed.
(Of course, everyone's favourite website is blipfoto.....)
More of my "In The City" series.
