Common puffball

A grey and wet day that became quite pleasant later in the afternoon.  The rain and drizzle stopped and the sun came out.  My husband had his booster Covid vaccine this morning and I had mine late in the afternoon.  It was a busy Covid vaccine centre and although the majority of people were of a similar age to myself there were a few children and a couple of young adults.  Afterwards I went for a walk on the commons and found a few mushrooms amongst the beech trees.  The main white one is I believe a common puffball, Lycoperdon periatum, I am unsure what the small brown one is beside it.

Our grandson had fun this afternoon as his parents took him to a local soft play area, so a productive day for all of us.
