New Experiences
Overcast with periods of rain and chilly, then sunny and mild. We had to be at the sports park for an 8:50 am game, so we were up early. Hubby brought breakfast to the room; crowds aren’t our thing. Parker’s team struggled with the first two games. So did the spectators- it was 40 deg F, cloudy, rainy and we had only nasty porta-johns. Thankfully, I brought a blanket and our chairs had a canopy so we weren’t completely soaked. We found a quaint, warm family restaurant for lunch. Our portions were plentiful, prices were reasonable and everything was tasty. An ambulance blocked our return to the fields. A boy broke his chin playing catch with a lacrosse ball - ouch. It was warmer for the afternoon game and our team got into their groove. We won 7-5. Parker (in the silver helmet) played some of each game and did well at the midfield position. He’s always played flag football in the fall so lacrosse is a new sport for all of us. They certainly whack each other with those expensive sticks-yikes! Afterwards, we enjoyed visiting small towns and scoping out a state park campground in this part of our state. I hope your weekend was as pleasant. Thanks for dropping by. “He’d never touched a stick before and now he is just eating, sleeping and breathing lacrosse” – Andy Shoop
