Only another 37 pages Granny

This was taken just before midnight - Ella had been reading in bed for hours and pleaded to be allowed to finish her book. So I went to bed, listening to my podcast.

Ella arrived in at 7.30 am quite perky. She said she’d come in to tell me she’d finished the book but I was asleep. She said she’d patted me on the head and turned off my IPad as it was too loud. So this morning she and Nathaniel acted this scenario for ages, taking turns at being the sleeping Granny.

I made a picnic and we headed for Cragside where they played in the adventure playground and we walked round the lake, with them climbing every rock available. Nathaniel expressed a wish to go into the forest. He lay down on a log and watched the swaying tree-tops, listening to the wind swishing high above. All this and no spliff.

Mr C drove them home for 4 pm as their old neighbour was going to arrange a zoom with her niece in Eswatini who is Ella’s age and they once met here. They wanted to see each other again.
