Fading

We have dahlia flowers which still look really good. But I liked this one - and the little fly which calls it home. The flowers are hanging on, but as we approach the end of the month it’s a losing battle.

J was talking to a nurse today, a relatively new recruit, who has never seen autumn before. It’s a new experience. Where she comes from there are two seasons, a hot one and a rainy one. Tornadoes feature, thunderstorms are plentiful. For someone used to four seasons of the year (although with climate change they are getting blurry at the edges) I would find their absence discombobulating.
