My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

It is sometimes hard for a fellow with a limited imagination to put it together that, somewhere else, someone else, someone very dear to me is undergoing life-saving surgery.

It is hard to credit that, while I'm mooching through cupboards, and feeding cats and sending emails, Loulou is recovering from surgery that will - hopefully - remove the threat of cancer from over her. 

I will carry on doing the dishes and making cups of coffee. But I'll be thinking about Loulou, until I hear she is back with us again.
