Aden & Ellie

Let me tell you about Ellie.

I first met Ellie when she was a secondary school student who attended one of our groups. After a rocky start to college and a brief period of wanting to work with tiny children, Ellie came to volunteer at a school group we ran. And then another. It was quickly evident that Ellie was much better suited to working with teenagers than tiny people and so she started a degree in Theology and Youth Work with SYFC as her placement. On completing her degree, she came on board with us as a youth worker. And we love her. It's been a privilege to be a part of her journey. 

Ellie has so many strengths but one of her weaknesses is that she likes to know everything. To the extent that she'd guessed that Aden might propose to her on their up-and-coming weekend away together and so had told a lot of people what was going to happen. Naughty Ellie.

Thankfully, Aden knows Ellie very well and was committed to actually making the proposal a surprise. And so he got in touch with me to see if we could 'pretend' to do some filming today which he could interrupt with a proposal and thereby capturing the whole thing on camera. 

Let me tell you, dear blippers, that it worked a treat. Well done that man.
