"our family portrait"

For some reason conversation tonight led us to online searches to locate a census record for Lyndsay's grandad. The ancestry website is very good for this and it got me thinking about family trees....

In my 1st year at high school we were asked to put together our family trees as part of our French homework to help familiarise ourselves with the french words for certain family members. I then became very interested in my family history so decided to extend them back as far as I could with the help of my 2 grannies who were able to get me back as far as my great great grandparents on both sides of the family!

I hope to extend the trees further using the ancestry website to include who married who for every family member, their children and try and track back to x3 great grandparents - you never know where I might end up and what secrets will be unearthed along the way! :)

And if anything it will a lovely thing to look back on in the future!
