Saturday: Joel

We met up with our friends, Joel and Niniane, tonight and had dinner at the ‘McKenzie Room’.  It describes itself as the best restaurant in Vancouver that no-one has heard of.  In fairness, it was pretty amazing.  We went for the 12 course tasting menu - by the end it was pretty hard to tell things apart - mainly because there was just so much to absorb..

Given we’d spent a fair amount we tried to wheedle a free brandy but were  unsuccessful.  I think it’s not really a thing here - in the UK we’re a bit less abashed about these things.
