2021 Friday — Sunset from Del Mar Park
This has been a long day of getting ready to leave here tomorrow for SoCal. So I’ve tried to plan our food all week long so that all the fresh breakfast food (eggs, milk, etc.) and all the fresh dinner food (veggies and meat) had been used by last night and they were. So as planned, we went out for breakfast this morning at the Sea Shanty restaurant and for dinner at LoLo’s Mexican Restaurant.
We both are starting to believe that the month of October is “summer” here. It was definitely hot in this little house today and was warm the past several afternoons. That is due partially to the fact that the sun blasts the front windows for hours during this time of year and when no clouds are available to shield its heat, then this little place gets warm.
Between breakfast and dinner I vacuumed this entire place, changed the sheets on our bed, and tidied the kitchen, which wasn’t exactly fun in the heat in this house. Mr. Fun cleaned the stove, and did several loads of laundry, and sat on the back patio where it was wonderfully cool in the shadow of the house.
After dinner this evening at LoLo’s, we drove to Del Mar Park, which is very close to the restaurant. We walked Chloe and Mitzi a lap around the park and watched the sun sinking quickly toward the horizon line. So we got back in the car and had a clear view of the sun. We put on sunglasses and watched as the light flattened like a pancake and stayed that way for 8 minutes. We decided that was happening because there were no clouds and the reflection of light stayed and stayed.
Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
