Island Viewpoint

We went out for breakfast today to The Piano cafe at Freshwater where we had been once before for coffee, which was very nice.
We then drove to the coast at Sconce Point to visit Fort Victoria, built in the 1850s to guard the Solent.
After that we headed back home to collect the dogs and went on a local walk up to this view point, with sea views all around. We think the white cliffs you can see in the background are at Sandown.
We’ve averaged seven miles a day walking over the week and have managed to get round most of the coast, so we feel like we’ve really got to know the island, never having been here before.
The walk finished off back in Godshill where we’re staying and we had a lovely cream tea in the village, in a cafe that was extremely dog friendly and the girls were treated to lots of fuss.
