Pre Catkin Knit-a-thon!
I am itching to start a new knitting project called Catkin. Apart from the fact that the yarn will arrive at the Parentals house tomorrow, I can't start until I have completed this wee treat for my dad. The back and front are done, apart from the collar which I need help with - thank you in anticipation Karen! The first sleeve is half way. I hope to get it finished over the Easter weekend.
I am very tired and hope to do little else this weekend - apart from sleep and maybe a small celebration tomorrow evening.
Today my parnetals celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary! They had their honeymoon in Dublin and ended up on the front page of The Irish Times with my dad in his kilt. They had gone to a rugby match which Scotland lost and it was pouring rain. They were waiting at a bus stop to return to their hotel in Dublin - a car stopped and gave them a lift - the power of the kilt!! The headline of the article said "Scots not too enamoured with Irish weather". I wonder if the journalist had ever been to Scotland!
I shall break my alcohol fast with a wee glass with them tomorrow - and may jump on the wagon again til next week with the family get together!
Happy days!
