Pleasure

Lovely misty morning on the allotment. I had cuddles with the super friendly hens and picked the last of the courgettes and beans! It's been an odd growing year - things were slow to start producing and as to my greenhouse crops - what a waste of time and effort! 4 each of peppers, aubergines and watermelons - they yielded 2 peppers, 1 aubergine and 1 watermelon! I will try again next year but instead of growbags will use pots!!
Yesterday my bulbs from Sarah Raven arrived so I'm now looking forward to Spring! Half of my backyard is white themed so lots of narcissus for that area and a tapestry coloured collection of tulips for the other half of the garden! There is something very calming about a white garden and I've wanted one ever since visiting Vita Sackville-West's White garden at Sissinghurst castle in Kent many decades ago! So now I have a back yard of two halves! One calm and simplicity, the other with purple and pinks! Can there be any better hobby than gardening! Constantly changing, constantly bringing pleasure to the senses and soul!
