Sunset at Sanday

The skies on the island were incredible. Vast landscapes with clouds rushing across, blown by winds that were often extremely strong. We enjoyed this sunset whilst visiting a friend who stays on Sanday every year. The walk back to our BandB was in complete darkness- I think the darkest I have ever known, with no moon and no light pollution. Just the stars and the Milky Way, but, sadly, no Northern Lights. And a torch, without which I think we might still be looking for the B and B.
