Sanday

Sanday is aptly named, with a string of Sandy beaches stretching along its shore. Recent high winds had brought in a significant amount of kelp, much to the delight of the birds which were feasting on the small insects. Sanderlings became our favourite, rushing back and forth with the waves to try to avoid getting wet.
Sanday is shaped like a series of fingers and we were at the north eastern tip. From this bay you can just see Start Point lighthouse. (You may need to expand this image to do so!).
